To be quite candid there were quite a number of reasons why I was so concerned. First, our fight to get an opportunity to do something with what belonged to us against the ory of the Pakeha that we were not competent - not forgetting our fortune in having the backing of old Peter, without which officialdom would have seen to it that our wishes were not greeted - secondly, at the Judges and Registrars repent secret conferees. As a practical man in these natters, I fell that the efficiency of our mill has not a2preciably increased as a result of these purchases. According to the quantity of log. delivered to the mill, mere timber was cut some two to three years ar,o than is being cut today. This woes not mean, ofcourse, that the mill is not paying its way. However, those are my personal views which may be proved wrong in the long run. Let us hope so.
