The only “outside” musician featured on the album was keyboardist Billy Preston. Otherwise, all instruments were played by the Beatles without the support of studio musicians. For over 30 years, Paul McCartney has voiced his displeasure with Phil Spector’s production, particularly the orchestration on the track “The Long And Winding Road.” The majority of Let It Be was recorded in 1969 for an album and film project, originally called Get Back, showing The Beatles returning to their roots as a four-piece rock-and-roll band. The album was initially titled Get Back, Don’t Let Me Down and Nine Others. The album title was changed to Get Back when the Beatles consented to film the sessions for a documentary, which would fulfill their three-movie deal with United Artists. The first two movies were A Hard Days Night and Help. However, the group was falling apart and the album project was abandoned. Shortly thereafter, the Beatles completed their final album, Abbey Road. After the Beatles’ breakup, John Lennon turned the tapes over to producer Phil Spector to complete the Let It Be album. Spector's production was undertaken after the group had broken up became a cause of anger to Paul McCartney, who took exception to the string arrangement on “The Long and Winding Road" and the additional music and mixes Spector added to the other tracks. The new release also features changes to the original track listing. The tracks “Dig It” and “Maggie Mae” are not on the Let It Be…Naked album and “Don't Let Me Down” is added. The package will also include booklet featuring photos of the recording sessions and extracts of Beatles’ dialogue from the original booklet that accompanied early British-released copies of the album, which was released in 1970. <hr>
