62You remove metadata the same way as you update it. First select a file from the
63file tree, then use the metadata table to select the metadata. If the metadata
64has a value assigned, the "Remove" button in the MetaEdit Controls becomes
65active. Click it to remove the metadata from the specified file. Other files
66remain unchanged, and the value remains in the Value Tree.

68When you remove metadata from a folder, or from several files, you are
69presented with various options: removing the metadata from this file, removing
70it from this and all other files, and skipping this file. You can cancel the
71operation at any time. If you choose metadata that is not common to all the
72selected files and click "Remove", the metadata is removed from those
73files that have it; all others are unaffected.
