     117There is an experimental release of Greenstone 3, a complete redesign and reimplementation of Greenstone that is under development. Standard Greenstone (Greenstone 2) remains the best choice for almost all users; Greenstone 3 is only for those brave (or foolhardy!) enough to experiment with new technology. Greenstone 3 can serve standard Greenstone collections without any change whatsoever, so there is no danger of becoming out-moded by continuing to use Greenstone 2.
