176 <p>Apache Ant is a project of the <a href="http://www.apache.org/">Apache Software Foundation</a>. It
177 started as a subproject of the <a href="http://jakarta.apache.org/">Apache Jakarta Project</a>.</p>

183WHEREAS, the Board of Directors deems it to be in the best
184interests of the Foundation and consistent with the
185Foundation's purpose to establish a Project Management

188distribution at no charge to the public.

190NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a Project Management
191Committee (PMC), to be known as the &quot;Apache Ant PMC&quot;, be and
192hereby is established pursuant to Bylaws of the Foundation; and

196for the creation and maintenance of the Ant build system and
197related software components, based on software licensed to the
