+      What do cheesy tunes, cheap shots, and prawn crackers have
+      in common? Beyond the recipe for a good time, these were all
+      iconic features of the Willow Disco of Coney Street, York.

+      Starting in the 1930s as a café, before becoming a Cantonese
+      restaurant in 1973, and then exclusively a nightclub in
+      2008, the Willow at 37A Coney Street boasted a long and
+      beloved history before its closure in 2015. The memories
+      people have of it are vast, varied, and deserve preservation
+      in the spirit of current initiatives seeking to document and
+      archive the history of lost music venues.
