6.0 Enriching Your Collection with Metadata

Now that you have gathered several files into your collection it is time to enrich them with additional information. This process is also known as marking-up or assigning metadata. This chapter explains how to do this, how metadata is created, edited, remembered and retrieved within the Librarian Interface, and how to use external sources of metadata (such as the hand-edited metadata.xml files that Greenstone can use).
