Tested with 2.80 version on Linux and Windows, with French metadata name (dc.Créateur), but couldn't replicate the problem.
Building process was successful and so did the searching and browsing on that metadata field.
Note:

We think this means that there are problems when the metadata set names are in unicode. e.g. dc.Titre where e has an accent
Check this.
Is it a GLI thing?
