1.3.2 Development of enriched delivery capability

Development of enriched delivery capability of media based on research outputs from Spatial and Temporal Media Objectives: image, audio, speech, music, maps. Applications built using such technological capabilities includes: a) map based querying; b) support in image-based OCR’d collections with search-term highlighting within the original image; c) melodic query support for sheet music collections d) access to audio content through textual access methods (e.g. searching and browsing), and f) skip-to navigation ability with audio, matched to speaker transitions. We know that these enhancements are useful because all have been requested by users in our existing Greenstone community.

Achievement Measure: At least two of the usage scenarios listed above to be identified by the Science Leader and developed from prototype to production quality and included in the Greenstone SVN repository.
