Description (last modified by )
John Rose's list:
iArchives (http://www.iarchives.com/demos_clients/greenstone.jsp) Remove Tundra Times from the list in the description. [Steve notes that the Tundra Times collection is still available at http://ttip.tuzzy.org/, but suggests it is probably not worthy of a separate listing in the examples.]
Lehigh University Digital Bridges Collection (http://bridges.lib.lehigh.edu/index.html) In 2008, the project was migrated to CONTENTdm digital collection management software. I suggest deletion of this example.
New York Botanical Garden (http://www.nybg.org/bsci/libr/rolen/page1.html) They have also gone over to ContentDM for their "new digital library." The original Greenstone collection is still available, several lines below New Digital Library, as "Digital Library" (The direct link is to http://library.nybg.org/library/page1.php). For the moment I would recommend replacing the old link with the correct one. I have asked them if they have any other Greenstone projects or plans, we can decide to extend or remove the link based on their reply.
Auburn University Libraries Digital Library (http://diglib.auburn.edu/gsdl/cgi-bin/library?a=p&p=home) Suggest that we add "including" after "several Greenstone collections" and remove the phrase: "A collection of over 300 Alabama Postcards depicting various scenes from early 20th century Alabama, a collection about 20th Century Alabama Authors," since these two collections are no longer mounted.
The links to "Durban in Motion", "Learning Together" and "SAMAP" of DISA in South Africa are all dead and I could not find these collections on the DISA site. I have written asking for clarification but in meantime best to remove all of these examples.
Illinois University Argus Collection (replace bad link http://www.iwu.edu/library/services/argus1.htm by http://europa.iwu.edu/gsdl/cgi-bin/library?c=argus8&p=about)
Slavonski Brod Public Library (http://www.gksb.hr/gsdl/cgi-bin/library.exe?a=p&p=about&c=brod&l=hr&w=iso-8859-2) Now inactive, suggest deletion.
Washington Research Library Consortium Special Collections (http://www.aladin.wrlc.org/dl/). Steve notes that there are still many Greenstone collections here, but others use Olive and dSpace now seems to underline many of the collections. Suggest we reword the description as follows: "Digital material from the special collections of the eight universities of WRLC in Washington, D.C., USA. Many of these use Greenstone but others are based on other software. An example of using a Greenstone search interface to access a DSpace repository can be seen in the Silent Worker collection (http://www.aladin.wrlc.org/dl/collection/hdr?gasw)."
