Description
- investigate why images are different sizes between the linux-generated image collection and the test collection built on darwin or windows
- investigate the cause of the difference in file sizes for index/idx folder, between linux and windows
- GS3 diffcol testing
- DEC testing with diffcol
Also GS3 variant

- image diffing might need to be a separate diffing process, like gdbdiff. If we find that images generated on windows vs mac vs linux are fundamentally different, instead of different because they use different imagemagick conversion defaults owing to different a imagemagick binary being used on windows, the new Imagediff process might normalise images by converting them to a basic image format like .ppm files which are c code that simply contain an array of image values.
