Description
- It may useful to end users for translators to be able to translate the important sections of the Greenstone wiki (such as the release notes for a release). At present, the wiki is not part of the GTI system. Therefore, while it's straightforward enough to translate a page of the wiki the first time round, if any of the GS Team were to suddenly add and update elements in the English language version of the page, nothing has yet been set up to indicate what sections changed, other than wiki's own history feature.
- Maybe maintain a list of translators who want to be kept up to date (daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly) about new strings added to various modules or updates. Then we can set up a cron to send off emails, assuming that we can send automated emails to people outside the uni.
The alternative in the meantime is to request translators to poll the translation status page that is already being generated nightly.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
Dr Bainbridge suggested adding a traffic signal for translations updated via the GTI (can add a link to the report) as well as for the nightly diffcols on the caveat page to indicate their status.
